Brief
Short enough to revisit, share, and carry into a busy day.
Quiet Wisdom with Dr. Snow
Brief true stories, devotions, encouragement, and hard-won wisdom for the health of mind, soul, body, and spirit.
The Purpose
Quiet Wisdom is the reflective voice of Dr. Snow’s work—a place where professional understanding, lived experience, faith, and nearly eight decades of life meet in language people can carry into an ordinary day.
These teachings are intentionally clear and unhurried. They do not pretend that every pain has a quick answer. Sometimes wisdom begins by helping a person feel seen, understood, and less alone.
The Two-Minute Promise
Quiet Wisdom messages are designed to respect the listener’s time without rushing the lesson. Each brief teaching draws from a true story, a hard-won insight, a Scripture, or a practical truth—and leaves the listener with one clear point to remember.
Short enough to revisit, share, and carry into a busy day.
Spoken calmly, without noise, pressure, or unnecessary performance.
One memorable truth that can shape a decision, response, or next step.
“Wisdom does not have to be long to remain with you.”
Listening & Presence
Recently, someone I love called and began sharing what was on his heart. I did not rush to correct him. I did not interrupt with my own story. I listened long enough for empathy to shape my response.
That conversation reminded me of something simple and easily forgotten: not every person who brings us pain is asking us to solve it. Sometimes people need a safe place to put words around what they have been carrying alone.
Listening says, “Your experience matters enough for me to remain present while you find the words.”
There will be moments for guidance, boundaries, questions, and practical action. But wisdom helps us recognize the moment before all of that—the moment when a human being simply needs to be heard.
Sometimes people just need you to listen. Nothing more. Nothing less.
Discipline, Direction & Faith
For years, I tried to lose weight. I worked out at the gym, jogged lightly on my mini trampoline, and sometimes I even ate clean—sometimes!
I had discovered a proven weight-loss program, but I followed it off and on. I kept the parts I liked, changed some of the difficult parts, and skipped some instructions altogether. Then I finally understood: the program was not failing me. I was changing the formula.
When I stopped changing the program and began following it faithfully—voilà! I lost the weight.
The formula for water is H₂O. Change the formula and it is no longer water. In the same way, when God gives you particular knowledge, wisdom, understanding, and a vision for the work you are called to do, do not weaken it to please people, remove the difficult parts, or abandon the process because the results take time.
You may adjust your methods when wisdom requires it—but do not compromise the God-given purpose, principles, or message.
Trust God’s wisdom. Follow the instructions. Don’t change the formula.

Hard-won wisdom about emotional safety, responsibility, respect, listening, and healthier ways of relating.
The Wisdom Library
This growing collection will eventually include written reflections, short videos, audio teachings, devotionals, and themed resources.
A proven path cannot produce its intended result when we keep removing instructions, adding our preferences, or following it only when it is convenient.
NEW TEACHINGPresence is not passivity. Sometimes the most loving response is to listen long enough to understand.
FEATURED TEACHINGA mentor’s warning about pressure, control, human limits, and the costly wisdom of boundaries.
TEACHING IN DEVELOPMENTWhat good are healthy additions if we never address the pressure that keeps breaking us down?

The North Star Beneath the Words
